About us

The Scottish Higher Educational Developers (SHED) is an open network for anyone who develops others in learning and teaching. The network works collaboratively with sector bodies to share information, support research and practice in learning and teaching and contribute to the enhancement of educational development across Scotland.

SHED has existed since at least 1995 and hosts meetings four times per year with an annual residential in the summer months. The network is open to all who develop others in learning and teaching across Scotland and the wider HE sector. SHED is facilitated by an Executive Committee of Convener, Vice Convener and Secretary and an Institutional Membership Group (IMG) composed one representative from each Scottish Higher Education Institutions.

SHED operates through a Terms of Reference which is available here.

The current representatives of all institutions are can be found here and can be contacted if you wish to raise any issue from the wider SHED community for consideration by the IMG.
