UHI, Inverness, 14th – 15th Nov 2016
The SHED Community is taking a step (further) into the digital world and our 2016 Residential will be held at the beautiful campus in Inverness at the University of the Highlands and Islands, within the new An Lòchran research and enterprise centre which is purpose-built for innovative digital learning. We warmly invite you to join us either virtually or in person to explore how we can enhance education practice through the digital in a supportive and dynamic environment. Confirmed invited speakers include Professor Frank Rennie, Assistant Principal, Lews Castle College UHI, and author of publications including the ‘e-Learning and Social Media Handbook’.
The 2-day event will be structured around 4 central themes:
- Technology-Enhanced Learning
- Digitally Supported Academic Development
- Digital Scholarship
- Open Education

For those unable to attend in person, it will be possible to participate in some of sessions online. Further information on this will be made available in due course on this page.
Call for session proposals
In addition to sessions led by our invited speakers, we are welcoming proposals for short sessions or workshops from delegates. If you would like to propose a session for the event there is space for you to do so in the registration form. Authors of accepted sessions will be notified by the 24th October. Only proposals submitted before 9am on
24th October 31st October will be considered.
Travel and Accommodation
The event is scheduled to start with lunch at 12:15pm on 14th Nov. and will finish 3.30pm on the 15th Nov and delegates should plan their travel accordingly. Registration for the event costs £93/person. This fee includes includes 1 night B&B and 3 course evening meal. Fees are to be paid directly to the partner hotel and details for booking this will be included in your registration confirmation email.
